Root osmotic sensing from local perception to systemic responses

چکیده
Abstract Plants face a constantly changing environment, requiring fine tuning of their growth and development. have therefore developed numerous mechanisms to cope with environmental stress conditions. One striking example is root response water deficit. Upon drought (which causes osmotic cells), plants can among other responses alter locally system architecture (hydropatterning) or orientate optimize uptake (hydrotropism). They also modify hydraulic properties, metabolism development coordinately at the whole plant levels. Upstream these developmental physiological changes, roots must perceive transduce signals for availability. Here, we review current knowledge on perception discuss how long distance signaling play role in signal integration, leading great phenotypic plasticity

Responses of Almond Genotypes to Osmotic Stress Induced In Vitro
Drought is one of the major limitations to crop production worldwide. This study was conducted to evaluate the response of five almond genotypes and peach×almond hybrid GF to drought stress in vitro, and screening drought tolerance. Explants subjected to polyethylene glycol osmotic stress ( , , and . % WV) on the MS medium. Increasing PEG level in the medium significantly reduced fresh weight a...
متن کاملBacterial responses to osmotic challenges
Microbes respond to osmotic challenges in diverse, variable, and extreme natural environments Exposure to diverse environments is a hallmark of microbial life. Microbes are everywhere; collectively, microbes experience everything. They live inside and outside eu-karyotic hosts, in soil, water, and air at diverse planetary sites. They may exist as individuals (planktonic growth) or aggregates, a...
متن کاملPiriformospora indica Root Colonization Triggers Local and Systemic Root Responses and Inhibits Secondary Colonization of Distal Roots
Piriformosporaindica is a basidiomycete fungus colonizing roots of a wide range of higher plants, including crop plants and the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana. Previous studies have shown that P. indica improves growth, and enhances systemic pathogen resistance in leaves of host plants. To investigate systemic effects within the root system, we established a hydroponic split-root cultivation ...
متن کاملLocal and Systemic Inflammatory Responses to Experimentally Induced Gingivitis
This study profiled the local and systemic inflammatory responses to experimentally induced gingivitis. Eight females participated in a 21-day experimental gingivitis model followed by a 14-day resolution phase. Bleeding on probing and plaque index scores were assessed before, during, and after resolution of gingival inflammation, and samples of saliva, GCF, and plasma were collected. Samples w...
متن کاملFever induction pathways: evidence from responses to systemic or local cytokine formation.
The immune and central nervous systems are functionally connected and interacting. The concept that the immune signaling to the brain which induces fever during infection and inflammation is mediated by circulating cytokines has been traditionally accepted. Administration of bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induces the appearance of a so-termed "cytokine cascade" in the circulation more or le...
